Three months after MRV joined the General Oceans Group, the team is reflecting on the transition, early collaboration across the Group and growing opportunities for the future.
We sat down with MRV’s Executive Vice President, Shawn Vasquez:
“Three months have quickly passed since the acquisition and MRV’s transition into the General Oceans Group has felt natural and proceeded seamlessly. All MRV team members have greatly appreciated the warm welcome into the Group and have started connecting with peers across the Group companies.
Early support from General Oceans has already resulted in a project kick-off for modernizing MRV’s website and branding, which is expected to be completed towards the end of the year.”
The first three months have also opened up conversations around how MRV can work more closely with other companies in the Group, from shared technical expertise to commercial opportunities.
“Still, MRV has only scratched the surface in identifying and leveraging synergies within the Group. There has been early discussion on the prospect of co-development of future products combining Group sensor expertise and MRV’s trusted platforms,” he continued.
General Oceans is also opening doors in the international markets with MRV already building momentum.
“In May, MRV secured its first win with an India-based customer and is working to secure more business in the region.”
Looking ahead, MRV is focused on contributing its specialist knowledge in floats and buoyancy engines while continuing to grow as part of the wider Group.
“MRV is looking forward to its growth prospects as part of General Oceans and in contributing its own product expertise in floats and buoyancy engines to the Group.
MRV is also eager to participate in CASCADE26, General Oceans’ annual internal leadership conference, with the Group companies coming together from across the world in September to share expertise and develop strategy. MRV strives to become a significant part of General Oceans’ overall growth in the years ahead.”
