In May 2026, Reach Robotics featured in the popular industry publication: Ocean Robotics Planet.

The feature, “Matching Manipulation to Mission: Application-Driven Design in Subsea Robotics,” explores how operators are selecting manipulation systems based on the realities of the task at hand. This includes criteria such as vehicle size, worksite access, force requirements, deployment constraints and the need for control and precision.

This matters because subsea jobs vary widely. Some tasks call for compact, lightweight systems that can work effectively in tight spaces and support close inspection or delicate intervention. Others require more robust tooling for inspection-class intervention or infrastructure maintenance. In both cases, the key point is the same: the system needs to fit the mission.
